Wallstone, Boulders and Flagstone:

  • Drywall Loose fit Stone:  12 to 15 face feet per ton or (1 ton will build a wall of approximately 1’x1’x15′)
  • Boulders for purpose of retaining soil (boulder wall):  5 face feet per ton
  • Granite boulders range 150-200 lb’s per cubic foot.  (there fore a roundish boulder of 2’x2’x3′ could weigh approximately 1 ton)
  • Flagstone 1″ thick = about 13 pounds per square foot (approximately 150 square feet per ton)
  • Flagstone 1.5″ thick = about 20 pounds per square foot (approximately 100 square feet per ton)
  • Flagstone 2″ thick = about 27 pounds per square foot (approximately 74 square feet per ton)
